Sugar Animation Studios Publishes “Art of” & “How to” Book for Aspiring Indie Short Filmmakers

Sugar Animation Studios takes a small step into publishing with their first art book. This isn’t your typical studio art book. It combines the elements of an “art of” with the narratives of a “how to”, which makes this book a promising take on the production process of animation. This comes from the indie perspective of Sugar’s own, Cleto Acosta-McKillop. ​
Cleto takes you on a ride through pre-production, production, and post production by using the films produced at Sugar Animation as examples in their respective production stages. The writing includes mistakes made, lessons learned, and the importance of finding your own voice in filmmaking. A great read for the novice artist wanting to pursue animation short filmmaking, as well as industry professionals who dream of one day tackling their own animated projects.
